And the 2025 Boyum Award Goes To . . . .

Each year, Cascade Health’s Cheryl Boyum Award honors a community member whose dedication to improving the health and well-being of local individuals and families makes our region a better place to live and work. This year, we’re proud to recognize auctioneer and Eugene-Springfield mainstay Sid Voorhees.

Sid’s fast-talking brilliance at the Festival of Trees live auction has helped raise millions for Cascade Health’s nonprofit programs, including the Pete Moore Hospice House. His fundraising talents were essential to the campaign that made the hospice house a reality in 2017, during the tenure of former Cascade Health CEO Cheryl Boyum – after whom the award is named. We can’t imagine a more fitting recipient.

Sid has been an integral part of Festival of Trees for more than 20 years, and we’re excited to welcome him back to the stage this November. In addition to his always-pro bono work with Cascade Health, he’s lent his time and talent to countless other organizations across our community, including FOOD for Lane County, Looking Glass Community Services, Marist High School and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Emerald Valley.

Thank you, Sid, for your tireless service and enduring impact.
