Hours: 12 - 24 hours/shift, on-call
Schedule: Varies
Pay Range: $20.92 - 31.38

Job Summary:

Respond to field calls and perform forensic phlebotomy for local law enforcement. Answer dispatch calls, engage and respond in a timely manner. May be scheduled for up to 24-hour shifts, which may include some weekends. On-call shifts receive a guaranteed stipend.

Education & License Requirements:

Current Oregon Paramedic, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license in good standing. Must have a current CPR certification.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience. Must have valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record. Ability to maintain professional demeanor and confidentiality.  Must be able to multi-task and work well in potentially stressful situations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform venipuncture in accordance with legal, clinical and chain-of-custody standards.

  • Complete accurate documentation and specimen handling.

  • Maintain professionalism in field settings (law enforcement facilities, hospitals, jails, or other approved locations).

  • Adhere to established response time expectations.

  • Provide exceptional customer service.

  • Utilize excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Work independently and as part of a team.

  • Use computer for required applications and data entry.

  • Respond to subpoenas as requested.

Marginal Job Functions:

Perform minor maintenance on vans in all weather conditions (change tires, install chains, headlamps). Perform other duties as assigned.
