Phlebotomy Specialist
Responsible to: Mobile Health Manager
Hours: 12 - 24 hours/shift, on-call
Schedule: Varies
Pay Range: $20.92 - 31.38
Job Summary:
Respond to field calls and perform forensic phlebotomy for local law enforcement. Answer dispatch calls, engage and respond in a timely manner. May be scheduled for up to 24-hour shifts, which may include some weekends. On-call shifts receive a guaranteed stipend.
Education & License Requirements:
Current Oregon Paramedic, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license in good standing. Must have a current CPR certification.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience. Must have valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record. Ability to maintain professional demeanor and confidentiality. Must be able to multi-task and work well in potentially stressful situations.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform venipuncture in accordance with legal, clinical and chain-of-custody standards.
Complete accurate documentation and specimen handling.
Maintain professionalism in field settings (law enforcement facilities, hospitals, jails, or other approved locations).
Adhere to established response time expectations.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Utilize excellent oral and written communication skills.
Work independently and as part of a team.
Use computer for required applications and data entry.
Respond to subpoenas as requested.
Marginal Job Functions:
Perform minor maintenance on vans in all weather conditions (change tires, install chains, headlamps). Perform other duties as assigned.
