Prevention

Pre-placement Testing

The Injury Prevention Screen is designed to evaluate an individual's ability to complete simulated work tasks and to provide individualized education for safety and job performance.

The Essential Function Test (EFT) determines if an individual has the physical abilities required to perform the essential functions of a specific job. The offer of employment can be contingent upon the applicant passing this EFT test.

Intervention

Acute Injured Worker Rehabilitation

Once we receive a physician referral, our physical therapist will see the injured worker within 48 hours to evaluate, offer symptom relief and facilitate a timely recovery. This program promotes return to work while teaching prevention techniques to avoid re-injury.

Rehabilitation

Physical Capacity Evaluation

This evaluation is often requested for insurance claim closure or as a brief description of physical ability. A two-hour session is held to measure ability to lift, carry, push, pull as well as grip strength, injured body part strength, endurance and flexibility. A 2-3 page narrative is included to explain the worker's physical demand performance level and general functional capacity.

Other services

Workers' Action Program also others the following services:

  • Injury prevention seminars
  • Ergonomic assessments
  • Pre-work stretching programs
