Home Health & Hospice
Volunteer with Cascade Hospice
Serving Eugene, Springfield, and surrounding communities
|
Volunteers are essential to the special care hospice provides. Supporting families, visiting patients, or helping at the office, each hospice volunteer contributes greatly to the quality of life of the people we serve. As a Volunteer you are part of an interdisciplinary team focused on patient-centered care so patients can remain in the familiar surroundings of their own home. |

Volunteer Opportunities
Home Respite Visits
Develop a trusting relationship with a family as you see a patient at home; this four-hour weekly visit may be the only break a family member receives.
Facility Companionship Visits
Visit a patient in a care facility 1-2 times a week for an hour. Build a rapport with someone who looks forward to your visits and enjoy one-on-one time together.
Alternative Therapy Volunteer
(Acupuncture, Massage, Music, Reiki, Therapeutic Touch)
As an alternative therapy volunteer you will use your skills to make patients and family members more comfortable as they experience a disease process.
Vigil Volunteer
Vigil volunteers ensure that no one dies alone. These volunteers sit with patients during their final hours to serve "vigil" over patients who are actively dying without family members or friends present.
Bereavement
Follow up with bereaved family members over the phone after a loved one has passed. Bereavement volunteers make sure the bereaved are receiving the information and resources they need after a loved one has died.
Administrative Program Support
Put your administrative skills to good use. We have many clerical opportunities, including calling families, computer data entry, filing, and mailings.
