Effective leadership requires intelligence- emotional intelligence. In addition to the usual “IQ” necessary to do the job, leaders also need to develop “emotional intelligence” or “EQ” in order to have the greatest impact. Emotional intelligence involves understanding the motivations, needs and experiences of oneself and others, and using this knowledge to successfully make connections with others. It is through relationships that leaders have the greatest impact and guide others in meeting goals. Participants will learn the principles of emotional intelligence, gain insights into one’s current use of emotional intelligence principles, and develop strategies to use emotional intelligence to enhance relationships and increase effectiveness as a leader.
