All organizations strive to achieve a safe and respectful environment for their employees and for those they serve. However, situations in the workplace can arise in which employees and customers are faced with physical or verbal threats, harassment, disrespectful behavior, and even physical attack. These types of incidents can result in loss of productivity, liability concerns, employee turn-over, poor customer service and even violence. Fortunately, there are proven strategies that employers and supervisors can use to promote a safe, respectful work environment. In this workshop, we will focus on the following areas:

  • Development of policies and procedures to promote a safe and respectful work environment
  • Creating an organizational climate that promotes effective communication, problem solving and conflict resolution between employees and with customers
  • Increasing skills for supervisors, managers and employees that reduce or prevent situations from becoming threatening.
