Safety – Alcohol and Driving - Popup |

More than 159 million U.S. adults self-reported episodes of alcohol-impaired driving in a recent year! More than two-thirds of children age 14 and younger who died in alcohol-related crashes during 1997–2002 were riding with the drinking driver, and less than a third of the children were properly restrained. Heavy drinking is defined as more than 1 drink per day for women, 2 drinks for men. Excessive alcohol use is the third leading lifestyle-related cause of death in the U.S. Most teen deaths in motor vehicle crashes occur below the legal blood alcohol limit. The issue is not just driving drunk – it’s driving with any impaired judgment. Never drink and drive!
