Safety ? Work-Related Injuries - Metric Popup

Work-related injuries are declining. They are also as diverse as the work Americans do. No workplace is immune to injury. The rate and the types of injuries depend on the type of work and the age and gender of workers. Mining and construction have the highest fatality rates, but service industries have the most injuries, mostly sprains and strains. Young workers lost the fewest days but had the most injuries. Follow good safety practices at your worksite – wear safety goggles, helmets, and other safety gear as recommended by your employer. Remember, most accidents and injuries can be prevented by becoming more safety conscious and taking precautions.
