Diabetes Risk – Hemoglobin A1c Blood Test - popup |

Hemoglobin A1c (normally called A1c) is a blood test that reflects how high your blood sugar levels have been over the past 3 months. In people without diabetes, a healthy A1c level is less than 5.0% (less than 4.5% is ideal). People with diabetes are encouraged to monitor their blood sugar levels closely and to keep their A1c levels down to 6.0-6.9%, or as close as possible without causing hypoglycemia. |
