Coronary Risk – Triglycerides - Popup

triglycerides

Triglyceride is the medical term for fat found in the blood. High triglycerides are linked to low HDL cholesterol, high blood sugar levels, and increased tendency for clots. Recommended levels are less than 150 mg/dL. Levels over 200 mg/dL are considered high risk. To lower triglyceride levels, get regular physical exercise (such as brisk walking), achieve and maintain a healthy weight, limit the intake of refined carbohydrates (especially sugar, desserts, and soft drinks), and limit alcohol intake.
