Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer for women, with about 240,000 new cases yearly. Factors that increase your risk include: having your first period before age 12, not having children or having your first child after age 30, and having a family history of breast cancer. The best advice to prevent breast cancer is:
- Get regular physical activity, 45-60 minutes, 5 days/week
- Limit lifetime weight gain with good eating habits and regular exercise
- Avoid or limit alcohol intake
